Precision lenses

Precision lenses are optical components that either focus or scatter light by refraction at their surface. The light is passed through a lens, causing the optical path to change depending on the substrate material and the shape of the lens.

With a plano-convex lens, the incident light is collected in a focal point. A plano-concave lens, on the other hand, scatters the light as it passes through.

Precision lenses are usually combined into several lens groups (objectives). They are used in various fields such as microscopy, image processing or telescopes. However, optical lenses are also used in laser processing, industry or defence technology. The fields are diverse and the production of the lenses requires extreme precision.
