History
Short company chronicle Optik+
In 1926 the Sandelmann Optik company was founded by Wilhelm Sandelmann in Braunschweig. The solid performance in the processing of various types of glass quickly earns him a good reputation in the fields of medicine, nautics and industry.
In 1975 his son Wilfried Sandelmann takes over the company. Soon after, the variety of products changes, with lighting technology now accounting for the majority of production: Lighting products for medical technology, for airports and aircraft as well as for private living spaces.
In 2000 his son Michael Sandelmann, the grandson of the company founder, succeeds to the company.
In 2005, the company was renamed Optik+.
In 2008, the company moves to larger premises in order to be able to handle the growing orders.
In 2010, Optik+ significantly expands its range of products and services: with the takeover of the complete optics production including the personnel of Rollei, the company gains precision optics and thus sets the course for a sustainable future.
2015 is also marked by far-reaching changes: New production rooms for high-precision surfaces are created through a major reconstruction. At the same time, the company invests in a new interferometer for precise surface measurement.
