Short company history Optik+
1926 The company Sandelmann Optik is founded in Brunswick by Wilhelm Sandelmann. Its sound performance working on a range of different types of glass soon enabled him to build up a good reputation in the fields of medicine, nautical science and industry.
1975 His son Wilfried Sandelmann takes over the company. The product range soon changed and a large part of the production was concentrated on illumination technology: lighting products for medical technology, for airports and aeroplanes and for private residences.
2000 In turn, his son Michael Sandelmann, grandchild of the original founder, becomes the next in line to take over the reins.
2005 Company renamed as Optik+.
2008 The company moves to larger premises in order to meet the growing demand.
2010 Expansion of Optik+ product and service range: By taking over the entire optical production – including the workforce – from the company Rollei, Optik+ gains a precision optics department and sets the course for a sustainable future.
2015 Also a year of change: extensive renovation works create new production areas for high-precision surfaces. At the same time, the company also invests in a new interferometer for precise surface measurements.
… to be continued.
